Pedigree Comics Launches November Auction Featuring High-Grade Marvel Keys and Rare Magazines

Pedigree Comics has kicked off its November Mint Marvels & Magazine Mania Auction, offering collectors more than 280 CGC-certified comics and magazines, including major Silver and Bronze Age keys and an impressive selection of high-grade magazines.

The auction opened on November 4 and runs through November 17, with all lots offered without reserve, no buyer's premium and starting bids of just $20.

According to Pedigree Comics CEO and President Doug Schmell, the auction features more than 60 recently certified comics alongside over 200 magazines sourced from several private collections. Many have achieved CGC grades of 9.6 and 9.8, with a significant number also boasting white pages.

Among the standout comic book offerings are Amazing Spider-Man #2 (CGC 9.2), Avengers #4 (CGC 9.4), Incredible Hulk #181 (CGC 9.2), Amazing Spider-Man #300 (CGC 9.6) and Star Wars #1 (CGC 9.8). Other notable keys include Daredevil #1 (CGC 8.0), Silver Surfer #1 (CGC 9.2), Tomb of Dracula #10 (CGC 9.6) and Batman #181 (CGC 9.0).

Collectors interested in signature books will also find Avengers #2 (CGC 9.2), featuring an authenticated Stan Lee autograph, alongside CGC Signature Series copies of Ultimate Fallout #4 (9.8) and The Walking Dead #1 (9.8).

However, the magazines may well be the real attraction of this sale.

More than 200 certified magazines feature in the auction, including 47 examples from the California Zero Humidity Collection, predominantly graded CGC 9.8. Additional highlights include early Mad magazines, high-grade Fantast issues, Marvel magazines from a Northeast collection, and selections from Skywald and Stanley Publications.

Of particular interest is an extensive run of Savage Sword of Conan magazines, with numerous issues achieving CGC 9.8, including the important first issue. Other notable offerings include Devilina #1 (9.8), Dracula Lives Annual #1 (9.8), Planet of the Apes #9 (9.8) and several high-grade Pizzazz magazines.

For collectors who appreciate the challenge of finding Bronze Age magazines in exceptional condition, this auction presents an interesting opportunity. Magazines have historically occupied a smaller corner of the certified collectibles market than traditional comic books, making an offering of this size and quality particularly noteworthy.

With a combination of established Marvel keys, pedigree-associated books, signature editions and high-grade magazines, Pedigree's November auction offers plenty for collectors to consider.

The auction closes Tuesday, November 17, with bidding available now at www.PedigreeComics.com.

Collectors can view the complete auction catalogue and individual lot details through the auction section of the Pedigree Comics website.
